Good people leaving Punaweb

My sympathies, I know how you feel, but some people are making accusations and it would be nice for those accused to confront their accuser.

For instance, Orchidlandguy has said this:

However TomK says this type of post where we are urging all to try to disagree civilly is us "telling others how to behave".

I would really like to know which post of mine he's referring to and quoting from. I always aim to improve myself and if I said what he quotes I'd like to know about it, but I can't find the post.

NO, not an accusation.
You stated this in this thread.
See you last post in this thread.

This is what you posted, that we are telling everyone how to behave.

So this thread titled "good people leaving punaweb" was actually about ONE member trying out another web site in addition to staying with punaweb? No wonder I got it wrong. I assumed it was about more than one person ("people") and about folks "leaving" punaweb, not going to other web sites.

[Big Grin] Was this my fifteen minutes of fame? I would rather it had come with a cash payout, like a lotto winner.[Big Grin]

It really is a shame that there is an "us vs. them" mentality going on.

There is plenty of room for more than one forum and each have different qualities. Personally I prefer facebook as a way of communicating, as there I get to pick who I communicate with and it is so much more diverse. But local forums have their place too.

The backbiting and rumors (mostly quite false) regarding the other forums is completely unattractive and unnecessary.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama issued a plea for restraint in cyberspace after meeting with national security aides Saturday to assess punaweb's and punaonline's response to widespread protest threatening the stability of the internet.

A White House statement said Obama "reiterated our focus on opposing name calling and urging restraint, supporting universal rights, and supporting concrete steps that advance good manners within forum boards."

From a Honolulu Star Advertiser story (I may have paraphrased a little)

My sentiments exactly...

People need to grow up seriously and start respecting each other.

put pety bickering aside and come together.

Or else we're frikin' doomed...
One Thing I can always be sure of is that things will never go as expected.
