I am teaching an ocean studies class at Waters of Life charter school and our open water certified lifeguard just fell through for our field work days at Wai 'Opae tidepools (Vacationland in Kapaho). We need someone who is Open Water certified and available on assorted Thursdays between mid April and the end of May from aboout 9 am to 1 pm.
I could probably squeeze a little money out of my budget to pay someone for their time. I have nine middle school students and we will have at least 3 other adults in the water with the kids, but the school won't let me take the kids into the water without an open Water Certified Life Guard and the volunteer we had is going to Australia for 3 months.
Our kids are a great bunch and our project is to find ways to educate users to visit the site without hurting it. So you would help us help protect one of the most amazing places in Puna. Please help!
