The Maku'u Peoples Walkway

Brilliant Greg. Undoubtedly there are temporary roadblocks I am unaware of. The first step to solving a problem is believing that it can be solved. Much of my career was dedicated to what others thought impossible. And anyone who postures and suggests that Hawaii actually has a system of laws is blowing smoke. It is a multi-level overlay of law, culture, tradition, and what you can get away with.

Jerry when are the 7 years of 10% raise a year up. Nice to know there may be a slow down on the raise. I own two lots and as I watch it go up I've been really concerned.

Bonnie, that depends on to whom one talks and what assumptions they make about the future non-bond expenses of the association. The most believable projection I have seen says that the next fiscal year, 2012-2013, could be the last. Stayed tuned, though. It's HPP. Anything could happen.

Now truer statement has been made about the laws here. [Big Grin]
There are pros and cons to this, but what Kelena states rings very true to my limited experiences and observations in my short one year as a full-time resident in Puna.
If it's ok with you, Kelena, am going to quote you when thinking about laws here. LOVE IT.[8D]

Aloha,
Paradise is more centrally located and seems to be just a little less steep for bicycles and mothers with baby carriages... (oh my!) There is one slightly constricted place about halfway down, but not really an obstacle. On the right side (going up) is nicely shady and quite beautiful. It doesn't take much to start a pathway... Its what neighbors are all about.
All the best!
