Fred Blas Report Card
#51
I believe Fred Blas is a decent person but lacks the strategic mind set that anyone in a political position needs.I have been following his term closely and it seems to me that the majority of his decisions were made from inductive reasoning. To be successful in representing the people of puna on the county council by making sure the WHOLE puna district receives there fair share of funding,I belive one would have to posses the skills necessary to make strategic choices and to think deductively.Take the repaving of kahakai for example, anyone with a little political background can see, that it was not a pareto efficient decision. In my opinoin if Mr.Blas gets reelected the other council members will look upon him as inductively dominated and strategically weak, not one to be allied with. They will look upon the people of puna as uneducated and masochistic for reelecting him,not deserving any serious thought or action.

Opihikao I now its off topic but i feel compelled to reply to your erroneous statement(In fact, today there are those who are not of Hawaiian blood that are more "Hawaiian" in their ways than some of our own, sad to say.)Being Hawaiian is not a set of standards. One Hawaiian cannot be more Hawaiian by their actions then an other.Just as one with no Hawaiian ancestry be more Hawaiian by his/her actions then an actual Hawaiian.

THATS JUST BEEN SITTING THERE FOR OVER TWO MONTH.ITS LIKE THEY RAN OUT OF MONEY. FRED BLAS GETS A "F" FROM ME

It is the Dept.of Public Works that does the poor job on our roads, Fred can give input, but I fear has little power over Mr.Nakasone or Warren Lee.

cwaters,I never implied that fred blas was responsible for the quality of the paving job. What I was implying was that having a council member living in the subdivision should inspire efficient quality work. But Imho fred doesnt possess the necessary skills to influence someones perception.People have two fundamental social motivations 1.People want to be liked and need to belong 2.People want to be accurate, consistent and authentic. While fred has #1 down pat re(picking up rubbish, weedwacking)what I hope the people of Puna will realize,is,that we need the latter.

We now have 2 people who have announced a run for District 4: James Weatherford and Greggor Ilagan. Does anyone know if Fred has announced any intention to run for his seat again?
