The more "talk" the more "money" it will cost to get anything done to HW130. Just another case of over studying a project to death.

Yes and I think nothing will get started until they can resolve the right of way dispute of HPP homeowners boardering highway 130!

Yeah, HPP is at the nexus of many of our transportation problems.
Assume the best and ask questions.

I don't even know 10% of what transpires between HPP and the county/state in regards to this problem. Maybe if the county would step up to the plate and treat the people in HPP as citizens of the county and give us some county service for the taxes they take from us, maybe, just maybe things could start going a little better. Probably just me over simplifying things too much. Hard to argue when you don't get involved though... I just get tired of the politics.

Why are there so many homes being built? with access to a main HY 130??? How insane are the Rep's in county. Need access to Hilo with a NEW ROAD not 130

I agree with Norm!
A second road is needed. Time for the State to exercise eminent domain and do some real traffic management. They don't need HPP's kokua.

But they need the permission of the "real people" in power on this island. Not our politicians... The billion dollar land owner(s) that the new road will cut through to get to Hilo. And that just isn't going to happen.

The power can be in the hands of the real power; the voters, if they want to elect politicians who will force the big guys to bargain or be forced by eminent domain to comply. This really could be a win-win for Puna and Shipman, et.al. if there was just a little kokua.
