Generous Hearts at Keonepoko...
#1
I had the privilege of being asked by my Hawaiian friend to go with her to the benefit held on Saturday evening at Keonepoko School...it was to raise money for the performing arts kids at Pahoa High...I shed more than one tear watching hula kahiko and also hula'auana...

Not only did she make me an amazing lei, but what a treat to have prime rib and other ono grinds at the benefit!

The evening was filled with music and dance and last but certainly not least we had the honor of listening to AUNTIE DARLENE AHUNA!!

I hope that some of you were able to be there...what a joy it was.

That sounds very nice. I saw Darlene Ahuna at the Civic Center one year, during the Slack Key festival. She is fantastic. I instantly bought one of her CDs and have bought more since. What a voice!

oink, her voice was other-worldly pretty. I googled for some of her music...there's so much she has done.
