I am moving to the island next month from California and would like to know if anyone has done any business with Guardian Moving and Storage. After reading some of their reviews on line, I'm wondering if I should look for someone else. Thanks

Please let us know. I still have to ship my worldly goods here, when my house sells.

I used Guardian Movers in a move from Kapoho to Nevada. They were Johnny on the Spot until the movers arrived. Not with a container which I had been led to believe, but with two moving trucks, one was rented by them, following day, a 3rd moving truck, packed every thing extremely well then moved it to Kona where it was moved to storage until it was moved to a container where it was shipped to Oahu where it was them moved to storage until a ship was ready for them and then moved to a ship...then to Calif. where it was again moved at least once more, I think actually twice. Then it arrived. When I moved furniture from Las Vegas to Hawaii I had one broken dish. Then I moved with Guardian. My 75 year old coffee table arrived with the marble top in 3 shatterd pieces(the mover tried to tell me it was made that way, not his fault). My breakfront had the glass shattered. Another antique desk with a glass top for biblots and engraved top was broken. My freezer now has a concave top, the footprints still visible on the top. What wasn't broken was dented (my microwave now has a dented side) what wasn't dented was smashed, as was an antique glass bowl...no pictures of this, it was in a million pieces, of all the boxes I have unpacked, conservitively speaking, 85% have had something broken in them. If someone from Guardian reads this, I have pictures. Chris Brown was the agent I delt with and once the movers arrived he never returned my calls. I wouldn't recommend Gurardian Movers to my very worst enemy.

Thanks for the tips. I read so many bad reviews about Guardian, that I called them up and canceled. I spoke to Chris. He got so mad, he hung up on me. I'm moving from the redwoods, 4 hours north of the bay area and I live on a dirt road. The only person I could find to do the job was Jim "The Kona Guy. So far he has been great. Will be there the first of October, so I'll let you know.
