Little, tiny ants
#31
It isn't just rain that impacts the effectiveness of Amdro, high humidity can do it too, and where I live the humidity can skyrocket with no real warning. Amdro works best in the environment LFAs like least, hot and dry.

My place is surrounded by really tall albizias, so we can treat our land all we want, and any breeze causes it to literally rain fire ants onto our house. So, unless the off island owners of the albizia lots do something about their trees, we are going to be inundated with LFAs on a regular basis. We need an effective biological control, there are no native ants to Hawaii, so a biological control could diminish all our ants and it wouldn't be messing with a native ecosystem.
