(aka 'Lilac Tasselflower')
its a non native weed, its in the sunflower daisy family (Asteraceae) Ive seen it many many times common is some areas, not invasive, kids love to play with them by pulling out the tops.. at least I did when i was a kid Smile

We would get them in droves in areas freshly cleared, but by diligent hand ripping them out by their little roots whenever I found them, I got rid of them eventually.
