Dwellings in Kalapana Seaview
#1
My wife and I have been searching for property in Kalapana Seaview, but had a couple of questions which we couldn't find answers for on Google:

- What is the minimum house size allowable in Kalapana Seaview? Or is there a minimum dwelling size requirement?

- I don't plan on building anytime soon, but I love camping on the Big Island, and have done so several times. Is there any rule against tenting on my own property for a couple weeks at a time (considering there are no noise complaints, etc.)? Or is there a rule against this in Kalapana Seaview?

Mahalo! Your help is appreciated!

Camping on your property - not allowed, done in some places - easiest is to do a SEARCH for camping on property you will get 4 pages of info on this forum

MIN sqft & more info on Seavie: For information on the CCR's of Seaview (I think min sqft countywide is residential = 800sqft - but community assn. can have more stringent regs...), check out their community Assn,:
http://www.kalapanaseaviewhawaii.org/

ADDED: most likely NOT allowed/not done in Seaview BECAUSE: small lots & no sanitary waste handling = big problems (and the lots are usually overlooking the neighbors, so ANYTHING you do will get noticed...

We Have no cc&r's here in seaview, please be considerate of your neighbors and don't do anything you would not want them to do! County building codes pretty much apply to permitted structures only around here.Good fences make good privacy ! Be careful where you buy in Seaview, there is a reason we are called the Open air asylum! A lot of people have started out there homesteads by camping and some still do! Aloha
