urologist recommendation
#1
Can anyone recommend a good urologist in Hilo? ( For a Male problem)
Don't know if I got a hernia or what but got some pain (down there).
Choosing a Dr. is a confusing problem in Puna. Thanks in advance for replies. KW
One Thing I can always be sure of is that things will never go as expected.

Hernia is not urology, best bet is to start with the your primary care doc

From what I have read the pain in the man parts could be a symptom of hernia. But as I said I don't know what is causing it. Don't have insurance right now. I used to have Kaiser but dropped it because I could never get the same primary care Doctor. Now if I have a problem I see Dr. Gallop at Keaau urgent care. He's pretty good. Any recommendations for primary care Dr's ?
Still would like to hear Recommendations for Urologists if anyone has one.

I had Kaiser too. My Doctor was Adam Adler. I had med insurance with them for 2 years. I went in once for a checkup with Dr. Adler, and he quit soon after (was it something I said??). They never had a suitable Dr. available since for my primary care Dr. I just dropped my insurance with them for that, and other reasons, and am going to go through Obamacare.
Dr. Adler impressed me, and also another lady I know, and he was her Doctor also.
Here is where he works now:

Hilo Medical Center 1190 Waianuenue AvenueHilo, HI 96720

He has 3 five star feedbacks on the website I found.

my 2 cents.... find a gp or internist that will order a good "mens" blood panel and work up psa, kidney function.... etc

If you use the lab at hilo hospital and pay cash at time of service - you will save upwards of 70% as opposed to billing or third party payment there are many "rates" .... cash at time of service cheap by comparison

with the lab results in hand have the GP or internist refer you - will save a $pecialists visit to order the tests.....

I second Seeb, Dr Lyric Santiago is great with kidney stones. I ended up in the ER a few yrs ago very sick with a kidney stone & serious infection from it. Dr. Santiago came in on her day off (Valentine's Day of all days) to help me. She's the doc for Hilo Medical Center Urology Clinic. Great doc with a male nurse if that makes it more comfortable for a guy to go to a female doc for a possible problem 'down there'.
