My beautiful stained glass fireplace screen recently came into contact with my 2 year old and 5 year old grandsons along with their nerf frisbee. Needless to say, but I'll do it anyhow, the fireplace screen lost out big time.
Anyone know of any stained glass artists who also do repairs?
Choke spiderweb cracks. I'd really like to repair it instead of chucking it.
Thanks for any and all recommendations or info.

There are a number of stained glass artists on island... the first thing... Is your piece put together with came channels holding the glass - usually with lead cames but could be brass, copper, or.., or is it tiffany style with copper foil? some artists do both, others will only do one or the other...& some work only with one type of cam if it is camed
If you want to try it yourself, I have some materials (want to get better, but right now newby novice... so I am not the person to take on someone elses' artwork.... if it was tile-work...maybe...) email or respond through forum...

OrchidIslander, did you find the assistance you needed?
I did not see this question until now or would have spoken up sooner. Carey's questions are apt. A bunch of folks around here can probably do copper foil repairs (m'self included). I'd be interested to know of anyone who does lead came repair (please message me if you do, or know of someone who does).
There is actually a third type of stained glass: dalle de verre, also called "faceted glass". It is the original form, predating the thin lead came type most folks recognize from European cathedrals. Two local examples are the East Hawaii Center for Spiritual Living at the corner of 31st & Paradise in HPP and St. James Episcopal in Waimea.
I can repair most types of dalle de verre panels which need restoration.

In Puna Beach Palisades Seneca Lalonde is a wonderful stained glass artist. She made the windows for my house. Her price was very reasonable. I don't have her number handy, but I bet she is in directory assistance.
