I feel like I've been transported back to 1990, looking for a place to rent videos. I've used Netflix for years, but in the last 6 months or so their service has degraded to the point where every title I want to watch has a 6 week waiting period.
So, those of you who still rent DVDs the old fashioned way, where do you get them?

Hi,
Hilo public library has DVD rentals, so does the mookini library at the UH - if you or yours are students or faculty.
Redbox titles always seem terrible to me I'd advise you avoid redbox.

Love the library, costs a $1, keep for a week, can request really old movies -Lost Weekend 1943 last one I got. They even have Breaking Bad.

Mountain View Village Video.
I think the hours are 11-9 daily. If you go before 1pm the bakery is still open.

Red Box for me. The rentals are pretty cheap, but they only have newer releases. And you can return the dvd to any Red Box, not just the only you rented it at, which I find can be very convenient. The library has a great selection if you are looking for older releases or TV shows.

If you have Amazon Prime, try their video library.
Yard sales, can buy them cheap.

Mmmmm. Mountain View Bakery is the best! Course, if we tell everyone, we'll have to get there even earlier in the day before they sell out!

The Hilo library is the BEST for DVD rentals! I miss it dearly. My local-for-now mainland library requires days-ahead reservations on their extensive collection of films. Which is kind of a PITA when you just want to "grab a movie".
