As We Move Forward in Puna

First, thank you for all of the various opinions and discussions here.

Mr. Tucker, thank you for the platform to discuss issues as they arise and grow. We are at a crossroads in Puna. Again. This is a valuable avenue for discussion, albeit tenuous at times.

For our ohana, several generations later, the mission stands: Take care of one another, agree or disagree with respect, continue to teach our keiki the basic values, ethics, and morals (no matter where you come from).

Aloha (in the true sense) to all. No matter your beliefs, nor color nor creed. Reading the various threads here provoked this post, and not to pontificate any longer, for your enjoyment, as we move forward, the following:

Kaulana Na Pua (ALL of us children of Hawai'i), stand strong and be respectful in your beliefs. As Nana Veary states, "Change We Must"...(Read her book if you haven't; it is an awakening perspective).

Thank you for this post. We need to move forward with Aloha, Compassion, Tolerance, Peace and Love for our fellow man. As we can see around that world, violence is not the answer and we need to reject this. I urge people to find a way to convince others to the merits of their perspective without resorting to force. If you believe you have a solution for a problem, but it requires forcing everyone to go along, rather then allowing people to choose, then it is not a good solution. It will be met with resistance and will never work right, let people choose, don't force them.

Aloha, Petard. Yes, it is. The gist of this post is to remember little things like, it's not what you say but how you say it.[]

The performance of many in "Project Kuleana", to the historic song, was the message, not so much the song choice. The intent was to show unity. Not make a political statement by any means. Kala mai.

It is a beautiful song, although written in opposition to the takeover of the Hawaiian Kingdom. It shows the essence of the kanaka maoli character: Not agreeable to the overthrow, but still delivers the message in a beautiful manner. JMO.
