I learned about this event at a hospice group session in Hilo this week. I'm paraphrasing the newspaper announcement below:
Hospice of Hilo is offering a celebration of life for the pets we've cherished and lost. The program is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2014, from 4:00 to 5:30 PM in the Hospice of Hilo Community Building, 1011 Waianuenue Ave., Hilo. (Not at the inpatient facility).
Participants are encouraged to bring photos, a memento or stories of their animal companion.
To reserve a place at the Paws for Celebration event, or find more information about other bereavement services offered free of charge by Hospice of Hilo, contact Kala at 969-1733.
