New Pahoa Post Office Hours
#1
Saw notice at post office in Pahoa today stating that starting June 2nd, new hours would be 10:00 am to 4:00 pm weekdays. Weekends seem to remain the same as open for 3 hours on Saturday.

This is crazy as this post office is already so busy and almost always with lines and so many of us without home delivery available.

This post office gives me an anxiety attack. I once stood in line for a half an hour. There were two people in front of me. I have left the line on more than one occasion because there were so many people packed into that tiny room and the line was moving a snail's pace. Pahoa really needs a better post office.

Pahoa post office is inundated w/lower Puna population but USPS has cut positions so now the ladies are having a hard time getting the daily mail posted in po boxes AND doing the myriad services needed at the front desk. I can see why they need to cut back on manning the front desk.

The GOP House keeps trying to kill USPS and it has taken major lobbying just to keep rural post offices open! They don't realize or care how much of a lifeline the USPS is to rural America!!!

The USPS deficit has to pay for their pension plan up front

Unlike regular pension plans, USPS has to set aside money for future employees who have yet to be born.

It will be interesting when dealing with the IRS means "do it online" or "pay FedEX $25".

No problem, right?
