The flow front has advanced more. I am not sure it's blocked. They should come out with an updated map today or tomorrow.

The report yesterday said the front has advanced to 5.5 miles from Pu'u O'o now. It was 5.3 a couple weeks ago. The front is emerging from old growth forest into a path from an older flow, so there are a lot fewer trees. Then, farther down the slope, there is a large area that was clear cut in the past. So, there will be less forest burning but it seems this clear stretch might see the front accelerating. The front is about a third of the way to Pahoa, slightly over 10 miles away now.

Somebody has put up a time lapse video of the Pu'u O'o crater activity from 4-12 to 5-2. Everybody says it is active but does anybody realize how active?

Thermal image movie of Pu'u 'O'o Crater (4/22/14-5/2/14)

That is the view overlooking the whole crater, then those spots that pop up are the vents, currently, north, northeast, south and west on the crater floor.

Located in Google maps where the USGS has their camera "studio", solar panels naturally. Very amusing the main camera cluster is on the edge of the main crater where it seems the most safe. Realizing the full magnitude of what is going on, it's astounding.

Located their wifi station alos. These google map images are about a year old. Pu'u O'o crater is now also spilling over its lip towards the south again.

The East Pacific Rise is a very long way from Hawaii. We are not near the ridge of it.
