foldable trailer? 4x8? 5x8?
#1
I know home depot sells these for 7-800 bucks...

Anyone else in town carries these things? Sears only sells the type you hook up to a lawn mower... I tried Lowes but the search result brings nothing up. I'll have to call them and see...

One thing, northern tool and harbor fright sell em really cheap, but I would imagine a shipping charge on a box that weights 250 lbs can't be cheap, but they do sell them for under 300 bucks. Maybe someone here has ordered one from the mainland?

Ah well, wanted to explore all my options. All tips welcome.

Eric, we used to have one of the Costco/HD "Sno Bear" 4x8 trailers, but the vehicle license fees went up soo much a couple of years ago, & we realized that we did not use the trailer enough to make it worth the license fee (our trailer fee was more than the pickup...and didn't do as much as the pickup)

We initially purchased the trailer because we didn't have a pickup....but like most things, after about 5yrs here, we bought an old pickup...and didn't use the trailer as much, then the license fees went up...

ADD: in the past, Lowes has had a variety of trailers, inc. a selection of enclosed ones, and there is always Troys in Kealakakua, but that is a pricier option than most others... I do know when we decided to forgo the trailer, there were more than a few on Craigslist... you may even find a foldable one on Oahu, and the shipping would not be as horrible as mainland shipping...

It's worse now. I paid $92. today to get tags for a 5 x 8 foot trailer. Something bought usually to move a lawn tractor around but for me it's small lumber loads and cinder.

They're moving the congestion down 130 to Shower, and rumor has it we're getting a roundabout in Pahoa. Whether these are "better"... too soon to tell.

Try Steve's Honda in Hilo, I know he carries a few different sizes.

Wow, I didn't know the fee's were that expensive. Ah well... Better then maintaining another vehicle with double the insurance.

Thanks for the replies, never thought about check Oahu on CL.

Share the cost with a good friend/neighbor who needs to use a trailer as well, unless you are going to be using it daily. I thought I would be using mine a lot, but it tends to sit and take up space more than use these days after the "need" disappeared.
