Thursday evening from Kea'au to Flower, 35 minutes..
A lane merge to 1 lane just before Flower. Green light for 130 traffic, but a police officer standing in the intersection directing traffic against the lights!
Guess who's fault it will be if a police person is hit by traffic on the green light?
If you insist on directing traffic manually, TURN OFF THE SIGNALS.
Also, who was the genius who closed off the right turn lane at Flower on to 130 Hilo bound? Right turning traffic now has to wait for the light to change, thus causing a large backup into HPP.
Further toward Pahoa, 2 lanes are being created westbound, but the center lane terminates into 1 lane with very poor coning. Navigable in daylight but a real problem in the dark.
Just another day in Paradise.
