I'm thankful that I survived another Thanksgiving Day without ingesting a green turkey. (No thanks to TomK and his neighbors, who hoarded all the Wiener schnitzel on the island.)

Having cut back on the carbs this past year, yesterday was a shock to my system: sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, pie, ice cream and cookies. Serious carb hangover this morning.

So back to my routine. Tonight: Japanese nabemono (a soupy broth of fish and veggies). I'll miss my carb friends but we plan to get together again around Christmas.
