We finally had a good rain yesterday. Real rain. Everything's blooming! I've never seen my Coffee tree bloom before, and the Jaboticaba is covered with fruit for the first time in 25 years since it was planted! Time to make jelly again! Mahalo Ke Akua! It feels like Puna again, nice and soggy!

Hamakua (Pepeekeo) had been dry since Christmas, but on the 25th & 26th of January about 11 inches of rain fell. It dried up again until February 22 when about four inches fell. Since then its been raining regularly.

Even though the drought was broken a few days ago, the ground and plants were still dry in Hawaiian Acres. No longer though this rain is for real and it seems like the official end of the January/February 2015 drought. Guess my midnight naked raindances were effective.

We were so glad to see the rain....yes, those dances must have done the trick! Seriously, I wonder how many inches have fallen in the past 24 hours?
Best wishes
