We were thinking about vacuum cleaners and were wondering how the dampness will affect things like the filters and bags.....
Do any of you have any suggestions on which brand, model, and type to bring with us?
We thought about a Dyson bagless.....pet hair will be a concern for us
Thanks for any input here

We love our Dyson! The final-stage HEPA filter is essentially foam and washable, can't imagine it being affected by humidity.
We have four cats, Dyson does a superb job picking up the hair.

We second and third votes on the animal hair model of Dyson (has a special head for vaccuming hair from furniture upholstery). Cost a bit more than some but it's well worth it. We got it while living in CA with 4 cats, brought it to Volcano, and it performs just great for us and our (now) 2 cats. Humidity doesn't seem to affect it.

We've go the Dyson also and don't even have wall to wall, just a couple of area rugs. No bags to buy or throw away. Should last a life time.

The Dyson with the "Ball" is worth every penny. You can easily vacuum with one hand as it turns soooooo easy. What you do with the other hand is discretionary.

Also with the bagless vacuums, we put the dustballs in our compost. The birds come and pick some of the fuzz and use it for their nests. Another thing to keep out of the landfill!

We have a built in Beam brand vacuum system that we believe is the nicest home care appliance on the planet. Is that an option living in Puna?
