No shrimp shacks, etc here.
I thinks that's an Oahu thing.

Plenty other good eats though.

Hmmm. Yeah. From what I know, the only sizeable commercial shrimp growing outfits are up on Oahu's North Shore. Kahuku-area, yah? Hence the trucks/shacks/etc.

...though from what I understand there is a research facility over on the Kona side that's working on coming up with disease resistant broodstock, which in turn is sold aquaculture concerns.

Maybe someone with a pink thumb needs to get cooking here on this side?

iceland, are you actually living here? Or did you recently move here from Oahu?

I don't believe there are any man made 'Shrimp Ponds' on the Big Island like Oahu.
I remember when UH first put up their 'Shrimp Ponds' in Kahuku. They use to only have one security guard for all their Shrimp Ponds out there. At night myself and some of my hungry surf buddies would pull the raid. We'd drag fish nets thru several of the ponds.

Ahhh, those were the days. Young, dumb, and full of chum.....gotcha huh? Get your mind out of the gutter!

Handle every situation like a dog,If you can't eat it or hump it,piss on it and walk away...
