Something fishy going on here:

According to the Advertiser:

State lawmakers are considering allowing the company to sell up to $20 million in tax-free bonds.

However, According to the Oceanlinx website, a contract is already signed and in place:

...Oceanlinx currently has the following contracts and major projects:...

Hawaii (USA): a signed MOU with an island in Hawaii for up to 2.7MW.

So which is it? Our the legislatures still deciding... or has the decision already been made without public input?[xx(]

Beachboy, at what cost? This is another scam like Kohala Taskforce, the original NELHA faciity (OTEC), and geothermal, except geothermal was made functional by an independent operator!

This "Island" is an unproven unit, and 2.7mw, (mabe) is all w're hoping to gain? While geothermal is producing 30mw and is ready to expand further They are our ONLY hope to drop rates, the rest is all going to fatten the monopoly over all of us!
Hawaii developed OTEC, is this Island using our liscensed Technology? Why is UH not continuing their Electric Production promise at NELHA!
Otherwise mabe an H-power facility would work, better than in Hilo!
Make UH return to NELHA and rejuvinate the original system or lease it to the highest bidder, and let an independent show them how!

I hope the Government knows what it could be getting itself into.

Looks like Oceanlinx might be having more trouble than it's letting us know about. From This Site I found this little gem.

...However, Oceanlinx has now admitted that it has not received the support it had been expecting from investors.

The company said in a statement: 'The feedback shows clearly that investors would strongly support a further round of private fund-raising, providing working capital for 18 to 24 months.'

The company hopes to install its wave power units in Hawaii and Rhode Island in the United States, in Namibia, in an additional site off Australia and at Cornwall's Wave Hub in the next two years.
