Bldg Permits - Hilo 4-5 months?

True or false, is it still taking 4-5 months for permits from the Hilo Building Dept? I screwed up and had the plans submitted to Hilo office, instead of Kona. Apparently once they are submitted, you can't ask for them back? Was hoping that was info from last year, not now...

Supposedly it takes about a week at the Kona office for permits.

After waiting 2 months, I went to the office at 3 pm Friday armed with a purple sweet potato Hapuna pie. Had my stamped plans in 5 minutes.
