I have been looking for a piece of modern furniture, a sideboard, etc. to repurpose for a bathroom vanity. So far I have not had any luck. I keep visualizing an Asian style vanity from a long ago stay at the Naniloa.
Looking for a wood worker or craftsman who custom builds cabinets, etc.to build the base for us.
The design would be very simple zen modern.
Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Have you checked out the "Bamboo and Teak" place in Hilo? They have a lot of that type of stuff shoved into multiple buildings throughout their sprawling footprint.

Yes we looked there on Saturday. We also went to Paradise plants and to Pier 1. We may go to Waimea next weekend to Habitat for Humanity. I hear they have more furniture than Hilo or Kona. Thanks for the tip though.

Check out Deb's consignment store in Kona, maybe they might have something.

There is another bamboo and teak location in Kona and they could have different pieces than Hilo. Also there is a Thai restaurant/art and furniture store at the top of the road Costco is on that had some very interesting pieces.

Purchased a sink at the bamboo & teak place. Also found a piece of furniture at Island Collections to repurpose for the bath vanity.
Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I had no idea there were so many furniture consignment places in Kona.
