Water Trucks..
#1
can anyone tell me what it cost for a water truck to bring water to one's catchment tank? My two year old left the water faucet on outside all last night!!!! Unfortunately, the pump is at the other end of house so I could not hear pump until 5 A.M. this morning while I sat down for my morning cup of java. My nine year old sleeps like right next to the pump! But he sleeps like a log.....however logs sleep?

Currently my tank has about three inches of water from the bottom. So I need to act quickly! Oh well, so much for the grass I just planted![Sad]

Gotta love kids huh?

Interesting enough... Several Hawaii islands just went into what is known as D0 (D Zero) Drought Conditions. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor

Which basically means: It's been abnormally dry.

D0 was introduced into several of the Hawaiian Islands this week. Most of Maui did not see much of the heavy rains that occurred during early February, which included 40 inches in 5 days on the east side of the Big Island. East Oahu and all of Molokai and Lanai were put into D0 as well because of low rainfall totals.

I use Keaau Service Station, they charge $125 for 5000 gallons. 966-9373

Roger, you may want to confirm that your pump didn't get damaged by running with no water going through it. With only a few inches of water, it sounds like your tank level dropped down to the intake. When you get the load of water, enjoy the taste... [xx(]

Keaau Service is good. I had an emergency one time (water ran out in the afternoon -- family arriving for a visit the next morning) and they were completely booked. I got K & T Water Hauling to do an emergency "after normal working hours" delivery (their number is 982-6200). I paid a little more for it, but they were there at 6pm on a Saturday saving my butt (and I do mean only a "little" more -- like $20). I did tip HEAVILY though to show the driver how much I appreciated him doing that for me.

I've also heard good things about ACR, although I personally have never used them.

thank you everybody for your replies & concerns. I went the phone book route. In the PB, there is two water haulers listed. I called them both, and got the best quote from the Water guy on 28th Ave. in HPP. Two companies, two quotes. One was $110.00 dollars for 3,000 gallons . The other company in Keaau I believe wanted $500.00 for less than 3,000 gallons[V]
