We used to have bagpipers on New Year's eve in Kailua, Oahu until one night as they came down a neighborhood road through a smokey cloud bank from red fire crackers, a vehicle almost ran all of them over. That was the final year for the bagpipers. We had looked forward to it every New Year's....
