It always seems like there are people that don't want something like this in their backyard... but suddenly there are acres and acres of NEW lava that could host huge solar farms. I would even bet that some of the out of work farmers that still own the land would be happy to make money off of leasing it. I'd much rather see a bunch of solar panels that PGV ever starting up again!
