I led a Hawaii Audubon birding trip on Pu'u O'o Trail (approx. MM23) south of Saddle Road, today. The view was spectacular from there. The snow cap on Mauna Loa isn't as obvious there, but Mauna Kea was impressive. Weather was great! We saw Oma'o, 'Apapane, 'I'iwi, Elepaio, 'Amakihi, and 'Io. Also, seen were Japanese White-eye.

This mornig (4/10) the mountains are again wrapped in a beautiful blanket of snow.... Thanks to the high clouds associated with the thunderstorms early yesterday morning!

I don't believe for a second about the technology phrase.Even if you really didn't know, for the bright person like you it would have taken you the whole 5 min. to figure it out!

Cat, There was a little sun right at sunrise this morning..... then drizzle, drizzle, drizzle most of the day!
Many of our older neighbors go for walks around the neighborhood at 4:30 am before they go home to listen to the "sounds of the orient' on the radio. Right at dawn, there was a lot of excited talking outside, so I had to get up & look! There was snow outside my window (on top of the mountain 20 odd miles away.... boy do I like it here.... the snow keeps a respectful distance from the house, but still looks purdy!
