Durian For Hawaii

New CTAHR bulletin listing a wide range of durian cultivars specifically for Hawaii, tree culture and management. The king of fruit:

Nice. Everything you wanted to know about durian but were afraid to ask. Plant It Hawaii thinks ants pollinate. How about the hummingbird moths?
Interesting that no one has figured it out yet.

My Monthong durian tree is currently loaded with flowers. Hope some will set to mature fruits. It has been three years since we got some delicious fruits.

As the reading you provided HOTPE, suggests, there is either the love or hate group with the fruit.

Unfortunately I cannot get over the smell and I'm definitely not in the love group. Once there were some people eating it on the beach next to me and it's a big fruit so it wasn't getting consumed fast enough. I had to get up and relocate to avoid gagging and nausea.
