Haven't heard a thing about her since she left office. Must be busy serving the kingdom.

It’s all about the definition of “public servant”.
Used to mean, “to serve the public”.
Now it means, “the public serves”.

Used to mean, "to serve the public".

Still does, for certain value of "public".

Example: which "public" does Mayor Kim serve?

Did a quick search and came up with this Civil Beat article from 2018 about how the OHA trustees' $22K allowances are spent:

https://www.civilbeat.org/2018/10/how-oh...llowances/

"The audit noted that the “overall pattern of questionable spending of Trustee Allowances, which are trust funds, reflects indifference towards money held for trust beneficiaries.”

The “questionable use” of the funds may erode public confidence in OHA, the audit said, adding that no trustee had ever been sanctioned for misuse of his or her allowance.

“Perhaps most importantly, the inappropriate use of trust funds may be resulting in trustees committing breaches for trust and fiduciary duties,” the audit said, recommending clearer policies and enforcement of sanctions.

Clearly the auditor didn't understand the new Hawaii: those of real, or imagined, Hawaiian heritage make the rules but don't have to obey any but their own...

Unfortunately, I believe Lassner, President of UH, is willing to allow the OHA to become a major part of the oversight of astronomy on Mauna Kea. If that happens, well, frankly, it will be a disaster for astronomy in Hawaii. Decommissioning highly productive observatories will become rampant with no regard to the actual science being done or the benefits to the community.
