Forgive me if this isn't directly Puna related. Had to run into Hilo this morning to Kaiser Permanente appointment, so did what I ususlay do with some spare time in Hilo. Grabbed a late and went to Reed's Bay Beach. On my way noticed, on Banyan, a rental bike rack with all blue bikes. I have a blown right knee, but can still ride. Just can't 1. stand up and pedal, and 2. have little strength in that right knee. But, I could tool around the level roads in that area. Thinking of the wife and I maybe will rent a couple for a fer hours and pedal around.
Anyone rent one there? They have the same bikes near the Kona water front too.

I saw a bunch of people riding those bikes today. They seem to be popular but they still had plenty left to rent. For some reason when I saw the bikes I thought that they were electric bikes because the format looks very similar. I didn't realize until I looked at the web site they were the regular pedal only variety.

Maybe next week we'll give them a try. We've got guests for a month ending Friday.

I'm thinking about one of those ebikes. I like that they have pedal assist, to help on the hills.
