Is that really true?

Macadamia NUTS are toxic to dogs, but I doubt the shells would be a problem.  We've used macnut mulch extensively and the dogs have never been attracted to it.

There is or was a guy in HA who sold crushed mac nuts.  Shells and meat mixed together.  Harvested the oil for biodiesel.  Anyways, he sold bags of raw crushed leftovers cheap and we bought some to feed our chickens.  Our dogs broke into the container where we stored the crushed nuts and filled up on them.  According to everything on the internet they should have died, but nothing happened.  Not even an upset stomach.  I don't have any explanation other than whatever the toxin is must be produced by roasting the nuts or it's contained in the oil, though that wouldn't make much sense because these nuts were still pretty oily even after being pressed.

Just got back from the store.

Costco:  $10 for Dave’s bread.

that’s a huge jump in price almost overnight.  Unexplainable.
