nail patterns for siding

I saw small note on my garage plans that I did not notice before

It said for exterior wall sheathing, which is LP Smartsiding 5/8"
the nail pattern should be 6" on edges, and 8" in the field

Not sure where they got that from since 2018 IRC says  6" and 12"
and Smart siding manual says the same thing

also he had listed for the anchor bolts
4ft on center and 6" from corners

but IRC says 6ft and 12"

So did Hawaii made changes to the code?  I can find them if they did...

The code was updated in 2021 but the county website is a mess ( they update it but don't remove the old info) , it's hard to tell if you are getting the correct info online.

If you have County Approved set of Plans (Permit review stamped) follow whats on the plans. That is what the inspector with follow.
