Well drilling
#11
May I ask how much it cost you for your well in HPP? How long did it take for them to drill? Thanks for your reply.

Crizzy,
It took one full day for the well to be drilled, the pump submerged, and the cassing cemented in place. Our plumber will hook-up the pressure tank, filter and UV light. The cost was about 8K. However, we are on the ocean so we had the mimimum cost for drilling because they hit water at 22ft and drilled to 26ft. The pump sits at about 24ft. Our salt content is about 475PPM so we will add an RO system for drinking water.

The well that we had Fred Page do was in HPP on the ocean at the end of Makuu. I'm not sure if he is online at all. I do know that he has worked on several large scale projects all over Hawaii, and I believe in Australia as well (that's where he's from). He was very professional and quite a gentleman. A UV filter is recommended just like with catchment water to filter out any bacteria. I'm not sure how a well driller could "guarantee the water", do you mean they can't guarantee that they will find water? I believe the price for that particular well was 12K plus tax. The Pressure tank was another $1,500 or so.

Emily, do you recall the depth that 12k$ paid for?

Sorry, I can't remember the exact depth.
Check out the following link to the State of Hawaii's Commission on Water Resource Management. There is a lot of info on the site that may answer some of your questions.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I contacted Diamond Drilling and got an estimate, $70/foot plus hardware expenses.
