Honohono orchid
#1
Does anyone grow the Honohono orchid (Dendrobium anosmum) in Puna? I'm curious how dry you need to keep it after growth for good blooming. I have a couple I would like to bring to our house but I need to leave all my plants outside on their own for months at a time.
Anybody have any experience to share?
Mahalo,
Jon

i'm not in frequently to check on my property so i leave the orchids in a semi shady area between rocks and in cinder...they do well if you take them out of the pots and absorb water from any rain or larger growth protecting them from above....they usually are very hardy.

Many people (including me) just put them in trees or on rock walls and let them take care of themselves. Mine bloomed like crazy this year. I did water them once or twice during the recent dry spell.
