Greenlaning and Junk cars.
#1
The wife and I took her new FJ Cruiser out for a spin and drove down Govt Beach Rd., it was a little tight in places but we didn't need 4wd. I did put a little pinstriping on but not much. There were plently of junk cars and some trash but a nice relaxing drive.

Who do I contact to pickup the junk cars? Doesn't the govt or police have a fund for this? Are there greenlaning groups or 4x4 clubs that do this?

Does any one know of other green lanes in the area?

Thanks

Jared

Did you do the drive between HPP and Hawaiian Beaches, or the other side towards Shipman beach? The drive between HPP and HB is really cool, there is a spot about halfway that has an access to the ocean where there are some cool lava caves. We couldn't make it much past that point, not enought clearance on the vehicle we were in, but what a nice drive it is. I would like to find out about any groups that do clean up in these areas, I would be willing to volunteer to help in clean up efforts. Although from the looks of it, none exist at this point, alot of those cars have been there for many many years. And the garbage thing I cant understand, its free to take garbage to the dump, yet people take it out and dump it in these places anyway...doesn't make sense to me.

Aloha all,
The road between HPP and Hawaiian Beaches is also fun on a mountain bike. Going the other way got a bit too rough so it's a better hike, at least for us.
