Mark your calendars - Bohol can get parole
#1
From todays Trib.

Randy Bohol can be eligible for parole in six years and eight months.

Mark you calendars to write the parole board and tell them to not let him out.

Assume the best and ask questions.

This is an unbelievable story, especially in light of his criminal record which is mind-blowing. In California we have a Three Strikes Law, which provides a mandatory sentence of life in prison for a third felony conviction where you have two prior serious or violent felonies. Works great.

The laxity of Hawaii criminal justice (if you want to call it that) is legendary. Bohol gets sentenced to 30 years, but might get out in less than seven. The penalties for drunk driving, or even killing someone while driving drunk, are a very bad joke. A neighborhood kipuna told me that the reason this is so bad is that such a large portion of the population have criminals in their families that the politicians are afraid to pass more stringent sentencing requirements or third strike laws. I have to quit now before I go off on a total rant.

Cheers,
Jerry
