Ground cover
#11
Without a frost to kill the tops uala (sweet potato) would not have to be replanted. However it definitely would need to be 'edged'. However that just provides you with greens to eat or mulch/compost material - if you cover the trimmings so they do not keep growing. You then have the option of harvesting tubers if/whenever you want.

I planted wedelia and I absolutely love it. It does so well as a ground cover by itself. I also planted some amongst the grassy areas and as I mow the grass, this ground cover grows tighter to the ground and it really acts as a highlight. It does so well as a creeper that it can get carried away, but it's so easy to pull to rein in. The County uses this as ground cover and I've seen it lining the boardwalk in San Diego. If you don't mow it, it can grow to 12" or more, if you do mow, it will stay tight to the ground.

Bringing forward as I should be ready to start this in another couple weeks. A good part of the rock base is in place.
Any more ideas? If I go with perennial peanut where would I find it, our any ground cover for that matter. Not much of a green thumb here.
