That's so great, Tony! An awa toast to you for your success. You might want to try some of the hotel gift shops. I know it would be a pain to keep them stocked, but the hotels in Kona could probably sell a LOT of the cards. There may be a lot of competition in that market though.

I wonder if you could do some larger matted copies of the photographs that could be framed and put on the wall, small ones like 8x10 that could sell for $20 or so. Put a description on the back of the matting of what the photo is, where it was taken, etc. Heck, maybe even sign it (or have a scanned stylish "AkoniV" printed on the description). If you could profitably sell them for $20-25, I think a lot of tourists and locals would buy them. If the cost of them matted is too high to sell for that price, how about putting them in a nice sealed clear sleeve with the description as a small separate sheet in the sleeve? I think if you stay in the $20 price point with a nice 8x10, they could sell.

What does everyone else think?

I think that is a good idea as, and especially if it will fit easily in a suitcase or carryon which cards and photos do, then people will buy them, from my experience with friends, family and personal travel. Of course Tony knows which ones are the favorites, so those would be the first to start with, I would think.

Ok I bite, what is an awa toast please?

Awa toast!!! That's something we will have at my house once we get there! Hang Loose wit dat awa John!! LOL!

Mella - Kava Kava - or Awa (AH-VAH) is a nasty little relaxing drink that is traditional polynesian (some say Samoan, some Tahitian...I don't mind either LOL)...makes you relax and your lips go numb!! Non-alcoholic, non-addictive...very nice relaxer! It looks like muddy water and tastes - well not great but who cares...hehehehe

HERE'S MUD IN YOUR EYE, JOHN!

This post has nothing to do with the Maku`u Market. Just a tangent...

It always cracks me up to think how the little mormon kids at Brigham-Young University Hawaii (on Oahu) can't drink, smoke, or even drink caffeine, but they are "allowed" to drink awa / kawa / kava.... Apparently some of them indulge quite a bit, but no one says anything, especially since the Polynesian Cultural Center is apparently run by the mormons.

Time is an illusion, but a handy one. Without it, we would not be able to hear sounds, and without that ability, we would have no music.
