According to the article, both Kaiser & HMSA are wanting to raise their commercial rates, yet Kaiser is the only one mentioned in the headline and throughout most of the article.

Another reason we need health care reform. We have so few choices here and many people have no choice if the main Kasier or HMSA won't sell them a policy.

My Kaiser premium is going up $20 a month, but they are adding 1 FREE preventative office visit & 1 FREE women's preventative visit per year. Normally that would be $50 in copay for me, so I'm looking on the positive side. I know, I know, that doesn't add up, but what else can we do?

and, if you have separate dental coverage through hds, the rates will be going up in january 2010. just received the notice.

My Kaiser coverage starts December 1. I just got a letter from them that I will be paying almost double starting January 1. I do call that a price hike alright! I opted for the Diamond Plan and may be re-thinking that decision since I am not on any meds and normally only get a full physical and maybe one other visit.

hm? i didn't get a notice of an increase in my premium--i'm on the platinum plan which covers five office visits/year with a $20 co-pay and drugs for $15 (it's cheaper if you order through the mail). i don't think i could afford to have the insurance if it doubled.

An almost 11% raise in a year in which the economy nationwide at least has actually had deflation. Just crazy. Put them all out of business I say.
