Fresh Buddha Hand Availability

Does anyone know of a source for fresh Buddha Hand citron, or Fingered citron (Citrus medica var. sarcodactylus)? I'm also looking for a graft to plant as well.

I have three trees, they do not fruit till early spring. You can buy one from Paradise Plants or at the Plant it Hawaii sale. I have purchased the fruit at the Hilo Farmer's Market twice last spring. It is not easy to find here. I use it for a variety of purposes... the best one is to flavor vodka.

Mahalo.**S** I was going to order one online, but will check out the sources you mention. My wife and I drink a tea with Buddha hand every morning and would love to grow it. Good stuff!

The fragrance of the Buddah's hand is another reason to have them. They perfume your home. There are many uses for this funny looking fruit, but my favorite is magnified in a big glass jar surrounded with vodka. I don't even drink vodka. It is beautiful.

It grows well here, even right on the ocean.

I would suggest buying from Plant It Hawaii directly. Their trees (at their seasonal sales) are fantastic, healthy, and ready to go. Trees that originally came from Plant It Hawaii that are found in other commercial plant stores are usually not as healthy, and most often root bound.
