Medical facilities /specialists in Pahoa
#1
To my understanding,it's basically Family Clinic where you get very basic ("first aid" type )help and further referral to a specialist in Hilo.A couple of chiropractors. That's it?

Or I might be wrong about the Family clinic.
Would like to know more,please.

Have heard many good things on the Pahoa Community Clinic, both on this forum & from friends (including Pahoa's Santa.... & benefit organizer today eta: he credits his life to the work they did this fall.... I have not used them, but the fact Santa did & is doing a benefit for them says alot....)

For the forum links:

Not to take away from them, but on this island we don't even have specialists in all major fields. Oahu for this, Oahu for that, and sometimes - go to California.

Here is something I've noticed that those of you who like or are affiliated with Hilo Medical Center may disagree with. When I mention to my Hilo doctor (who has practiced here a long time) that I don't feel comfortable doing something at Hilo Med Center, she doesn't ask "why not"? She just nods and facilitates my going to Waimea, even though her privileges are in Hilo. She gets it.
