I got a email note from Mac on this. I have an education mac & the email implies that they are available through the UHH Mac store...(this is more of a virtual store, from my past experience..) but am not positive on this, as they are not open on this weekend... Best Buys have them here on the mainland. They said all Best Buys will have them. But, some have taken advanced reservations for the bulk of their initial supply, so only a few may have been held for general sale. FYI, the Apple and Best Buys sold out within 1 minute of opening (lines started forming last night).

I would wait for the next generation since this version has no ability to print.

What's the rush?

I'd like to be the first on my block to have one too, but have decided to keep my money in the bank for at least a couple more months.

Why?

First generation Apples (& gadgets in general) are notoriously buggy.
Today's roll-out is WiFi only; no 3G; not til later in the month.
No camera; so no Skype etc.
No Flash.
No USB.

Features will be added, glitches deglitched, compatability-kinks dekinked, and all the while the prices will plummet. Same as with the iPhone and iTouch.

Good luck if you do decide you need to buy today.
