Disabled Person Dies in Pahoa House Fire
#1
An unhappy story. For some reason I find it in the Star Bulletin:

In Nanawale Estates. Not too much detail yet. Very sorry to hear of this.

Rob, the person who died was Cris Huemiller, the quadriplegic who painted using a brush held in his mouth. His neighbors all loved him and will miss him. Rest in peace, Cris.

This is so sad...I just watched the KITV piece and wondered if anyone was aware of this artist in our neck of the woods...sounds like he was a really wonderful person.

This sadden me, I met cris at the Pahoa jam last year when grilling Huli Huli chicken. My wife Barbara was there in her wheelchair and her and Cris became friends. He gave her a piece of his art work and when I wanted to give him some cash he refused it saying that this is a gift for Barbara. That has to show you the kind of character that Cris had. I for one will surly miss him.
