Police & drug sniffing dogs walking in Volcano!

Hey Now!

Anyone know what's with the police walking down Wright Road in Volcano Village, within the last hour, with what seems to be a drug sniffing dog on the end of a long leash sniffing in peoples yards, and all the people walking down the street?

Is this a new tactic? Has anyone seen it before? Does it happen in lower Puna? Is it legal?

Paper today, she was on her walk, took a shortcut & got disorientated. Spent 2 nights out in the wet & cold following errant pig trails, then found her way back to her neighborhood using her tracking skills & the beautiful morning sun we had yesterday.
She had had a dental appt. early on Wed. morning, then went for a walk in the afternoon...
She is fine & husband is very relieved.
Lesson to be learned... ALWAYS carry a communication device or take a buddy on a walk

wonderful news! glad to hear that she's doing okay. we are oh so familiar with the wandering parent. renee's mom had dementia then full blown alzheimer's. very sad.
