A major change in trend has a new dairy planned for the Hamakua area.
Good news.

I learned something new, for the newbie, that surprised me:
"As recently as 1980, Hawaii's dairy industry supplied the state with all its milk."

Oh.....yeaaaaaaahhhhhh.....I was in Safeway the other day looking for some Dannon yogurt. I make my own yogurt because I like it heavy-set, or thick. But it's easier to make homemade yogurt from a ready made culture. Dannon is the only one that has enough live culture. It's cheating, but it works for me.
Anyway, Safeway only has that 6 pack of crappy lite yogurt. Meadow Gold and lucern is sugar crap. But I saw another yogurt brand I've never seen before. It was called Naked Cow. I kept staring at it, but never picked it up; the price was shocking. Now I know why. Maybe I'll try it anyway. Atleast this time I'll pick it up and read the ingredients.
Hope they make it, and soon so their prices will go down.
