Hilo & Puna these days? What does the high end gas cost per gallon there?
I noticed here in Honolulu gas prices are slowly creeping upwards.
While in Puna back in Nov., the only thing I saw more expensive in Hilo than Honolulu was gas. Everything else was cheaper than Honolulu....what gives?

I usually go here to find the cheapest gas which is currently at $2.96.

yeah go figure, a barrel of oil was down to it's lowest level in a year and a half the other day and yet the oil barons continue to gouge Hawaii, with our governor and bush cheering them on. they should revise and reimplement the gas cap, and hold these thieves accountable.

Continuous processes like oil refineries are most efficient/profitable when they run near maximum capacity. The oil companies have had the benefit of running at capacity, charging high prices and people keep buying gas no matter what the price. Prices come down when the gas storage tanks start filling up. Prices come down when we don't buy as much when the price is high.
