Sharwell avocado
#1
Aloha, I'm trying my hand at grafting a mature sharwell to my seedling sharwell(my favorite avocado!)
Does anyone have a producing sharwell (or other buttery avocado)
that I could borrow(or buy) a few grafting slips from.

I planted too many Sharwell seeds and have about 10 beautiful seedlings. It is my understanding that these trees will never produce unless I graft.

You are on the right track. Its best to buy a graft from the nursery or make one like are doing. If your seedling goes to maturity, you don't know what kind of fruit (avo, mango, etc) that you are getting. The tree could revert back to the root stock of the previous graft, possibly resulting in undesired characteristics. And trees grown from seed may take twice as long to bear as grafted trees.

Forgot to add this. I'm sure you are aware that the root stock of your graft (seedling portion) does not have to be Sharwill.
